Stipend Payment Details

  • Trade Apprentices (ITI): Stipend will be paid according to the rates prescribed by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India.
  • Graduate & Technician Apprentices (Degree/Diploma): The monthly stipend will be shared equally:
    • 50% paid by SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP)
    • 50% paid by the Board of Practical Training (BOPT) through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, or as per the latest MSDE guidelines.

Training Duration

  • Training Period: 1 Year
  • Apprentices will receive practical industrial training at SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) during the apprenticeship period.

Important Points

  • No Hostel or Accommodation will be provided by SAIL RSP.
  • No Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be paid for attending training or document verification.
  • The apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment in SAIL after successful completion of the training.
  • Stipend will be credited directly to the apprentice’s bank account through the prescribed payment process.

The SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) Apprentice Recruitment 2026 selection process is completely merit-based. There is no written examination or interview. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic performance and successful document verification.

SAIL RSP Apprentice Selection Stages

The selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Online Registration
    • Candidates must apply through the NAPS (for Trade Apprentices) or NATS (for Diploma/Graduate Apprentices) portal before the prescribed deadline.
  2. Merit-Based Shortlisting
    • Shortlisting will be done based on the number of vacancies available in each trade or discipline.
    • A merit list will be prepared using the following weightage:
      • 30% Weightage: Marks obtained in Class 10 (Matriculation)
      • 70% Weightage: Marks obtained in the ITI / Diploma / Degree examination, as applicable.
