The Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Odisha Region has released the Income Tax Department Odisha Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Notification for 12 Group C vacancies under the Sports Quota. Eligible meritorious sportspersons can apply for the posts of Tax Assistant, Stenographer Grade-II, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) through offline mode.

Educational Qualification

Tax Assistant

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
  • Data Entry Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour.

Stenographer Grade-II

  • 12th Pass.
  • Dictation: 80 words per minute for 10 minutes.
  • Transcription:
    • English – 50 Minutes
    • Hindi – 65 Minutes

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)

  • 10th Pass (Matriculation) from a recognized board.

Selection Process

Tax Assistant & Stenographer Grade-II

Selection will be conducted in two stages:

Stage 1

Stage 2

  • Skill Test

Tax Assistant Skill Test

  • Data Entry Test

Stenographer Skill Test

  • Stenography Test

Final merit will be prepared based on sports achievements and qualifying the skill test.


MTS Selection Process

Selection for MTS will be based solely on:

  • Sports achievements
  • Merit List
  • Document Verification

No skill test is prescribed for MTS.
